Local Scholarships
The following is a list of the scholarships and awards that were offered to graduating students from Carberry Collegiate at the Graduation Ceremony 2020:
**Note: Students DO NOT need to apply for these scholarships. They will fill out an information sheet in May and will automatically be considered for the applicable scholarships.**
Dale Ernest Jerome Memorial Bursary $200 – presented to a graduating student who will be pursuing an Apprenticeship program
Arts Council Scholarship $300 – presented to a student going into Fine Arts, an Arts program, or furthering their education within the Arts
Don and Ruth Forbes Education Assistance Award $350 – funded by the Carberry and Area Community Foundation Inc, this award will assist a student who is pursuing their post-secondary education in the field of fine arts and/or business
Carberry Legion Branch 153 Bursary $500 – presented to the child or grandchild of a veteran, active member, or a Legion member who is continuing his/her education
Heritage Co-op Scholarship $500 – awarded to a student who is continuing their post-secondary education in an agriculture or business-related field
Quenton Meyers-Gauthier Memorial Award $500 – sponsored by Meyers Meats, this award is presented to a graduate who is pursuing his/her education in the trades
CC Spirit Award/Westoba Credit Union $500 – presented by the CC Staff to a member of the graduating class displaying school spirit and leadership with a minimum of a 70% average
De Winton I.O.D.E. Scholarship $500 – presented to a graduating student entering a one or two year vocational program
Westman Communication Group Scholarship $500 – presented to a student who has demonstrated proven academic capabilities, and (participated in community and school activities and) shown an interest in a career in the technology field
Westman Aerial Spray Scholarship $500 – presented to a graduate who is continuing his/her education in Agriculture or an agriculture-related field
Town of Carberry Scholarship $500 – presented to a student who embodies the spirit of the community in actions and deeds and is continuing on with their post-secondary education
RM of North Cypress-Langford Scholarship $500 – presented to a student from the RM of North Cypress-Langford who is continuing their education in a post-secondary institution and who has displayed community involvement
McCain’s Scholarship $500 – presented to a student who is continuing his/her education in the trades or in the Apprenticeship program
McCain’s Scholarship $500 – presented to a student who is continuing his/her education in a post-secondary institution in the field of engineering, agriculture, or business
Jack Lupton Memorial Scholarship Award $600 – sponsored by the Carberry & Area Community Foundation Inc, this scholarship is awarded to a student who will be pursuing a post-secondary education (in the fields of journalism and/or sports)
BPTA 2 X $650 – presented by the BPTA to graduating students furthering their education in the areas of Teacher Education and any other post-secondary program
Carberry 4H Beef Club Educational Assistance Award $700 – funded by the Carberry & Area Community Foundation Inc with donations from the Carberry 4-H Beef Club, this award is presented to a graduating 4H Beef Club member who is pursuing their education in a registered institution which upon completion provides the student with a degree, diploma or certificate
Central Plains 4-H Area Council Gold Watch – sponsored by Westoba Credit Union, this watch is awarded to a 4-H member in the Central Plains area, who is 16 years of age or older, committed to the 4-H program, show leadership skills, and an overall outstanding 4-H member to their club, their community and their country
Carberry 4H Beef Club Educational Assistance Award $500 – funded by the Carberry 4-H Beef Club, this award is given to a long term member who is pursuing their education in a registered institution which upon completion provides the student with a degree, diploma or certificate
CC / Pat Lupton Memorial Scholarship $750 – presented by the Mayor of Carberry & Carberry BPO Elk’s Lodge to a graduate who displays community and school involvement and who is proceeding to post-secondary education
Chown Scholarship $1000 – presented to a graduating student registered at the University of Manitoba for the upcoming year, with a minimum 85% academic average
Carberry #29 Masonic Scholarship $1000 – sponsored by the Carberry & Area Community Foundation Inc, this award is presented to a member of the graduating class who has shown improvement through their Grade 11 and 12 years in combination with service to their school and/or community. The recipient must be continuing in a post-secondary program
Sandhills Electric & Mechanical Scholarship $1000 – presented to a hard-working graduate who is pursuing a trade, in the area of electrical, refrigeration, plumbing/ mechanical, or gasfitter
Mrs. A.K. & Inspector Butcher Scholarships 2 X $1271.25 – presented to graduates who display a clear perception of what they wish to do and are continuing their education in a university or community college.
Falk Pharmacy Health Sciences Scholarship $1500 – presented to a graduate who is furthering their education in a health-related field
Edith Alice Stevens Education Assistance Award 2 X$1500 – this award is funded by the Carberry and Area Community Foundation Inc and is intended to assist students continuing in a post-secondary education program
C.C. Staff/ Carberry & Area Community Foundation Award $1500 – funded by the Carberry and Area Community Foundation Inc, this award was established by the Carberry Collegiate staff to recognize performance (both academic and extra-curricular) throughout high school. It is presented to a student continuing in a post-secondary education
Applied Arts, Trades and Technology Award $1500 – sponsored by the Carberry and Area Community Foundation Inc, is awarded to an individual who will be pursuing their education in the fields of applied arts, trades or technology at a recognized training facility other than a university
T. Roy and Edith Bailey Memorial Scholarship $2000 – this memorial scholarship, funded by the Carberry and Area Community Foundation Inc, is intended to encourage individuals graduating from Carberry Collegiate to enter post-secondary education in the areas of theology, health care, education, agriculture or music
C.C. Medal and Scholarship/ Carberry & Area Community Foundation $2500 – presented to a student in the graduating class who has demonstrated exemplary performance throughout high school, striving for academic excellence and committing to extra-curricular and school programs. This award is designated for a student who is continuing their education in a post-secondary institution and is accompanied by a $2500 scholarship funded by the Carberry and Area Community Foundation Inc.
Governor General’s Medal/Carberry & Area Community Foundation $2500 – medal provided by the Governor General to be awarded to the graduate with the highest academic standing based on Gr.11 and 12 marks. Funded by Carberry and Area Community Foundation Inc, a $2500.00 scholarship is available to recipients who are continuing in a post-secondary program.
